Like the home in San Mateo, this house was beloved for its location, not for the tiny, badly organized rooms of the original. The owner had waited for years to turn it into the house of her dreams and we were lucky to help.

Taken down to the foundation for seismic upgrading and expansion, the house was reorganized around a central spine of light reaching from the front door through the dining room, kitchen and sitting area, to a deck and garden beyond. From every room the owners can see the garden and appreciate its southern light.
